Canon Announces imageFORCE Multifunction Printer

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the new imageFORCE C7165, an
A3 color, multifunction printer designed for the high-speed, color print needs of an office environment looking to bring light production applications in-house. The imageFORCE C7165 model enters a new space between the high-end office and the light production segment. It’s designed to deliver consistent, high-precision results at print speeds of up to 65 pages per minute in both black and white and color. And
its compact footprint allows small and medium-size businesses the opportunity to produce short runs
of professional-quality materials in-house and on
demand, potentially saving money previously spent on outsourcing while also enhancing overall efficiency.

Built with newly developed D2 Exposure Technology, the imageFORCE C7165 model delivers superb quality with print resolutions up to 4800 dpi. Unlike traditional laser technology, D2 Exposure uses
OLED as its light source combined with Silicon Wafer technology. This shorter light path contributes
to less interference, thereby resulting in high-definition quality, finer lines, and more accurate color registration, all of which help to elevate print quality beyond standard office document production. This breakthrough technology enhances the overall print output and allows for new creative possibilities, enabling organizations to produce a wider variety of applications in-house.
To help provide color consistency from the first print to the last, the imageFORCE C7165 model leverages the Multi-Density Adjustment Technology utilized in other Canon models, along with
the new Real-Time Adjustment from Estimation feature, which collects data and adjusts toner
density automatically.
To achieve outstanding accuracy with front-to-back registration,
the imageFORCE C7165 model includes fixing knobs in the lower cassettes, designed to help secure the media plate and prevent
paper from shifting during use. Additionally, sensors are used to adjust the paper position for more accurate image placement.
The imageFORCE C7165 model also supports a new imagePASS controller, powered by Fiery® technology. The imagePASS-T1
will provide the resources needed to help tackle more challenging
and complex jobs. Support for dual controllers is available for environments that would like to leverage both imagePASS and device-native controllers.

The imageFORCE C7165 model is designed for user convenience. The device features a new user interface that offers improved simplicity, icons categorized by color, and contemporary graphics for easy identification between functions. And although the UI has been updated, it’s still similar to that of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX Series, thereby delivering a seamless transition between platforms.
The imageFORCE C7165 model supports a wide variety of media, including long sheets up to 51.2″ and synthetic (water-resistant) media, which is suitable for applications such as restaurant menus, outdoor signage, maps, and labeling.

This is the first enterprise model from Canon that supports printing on synthetic media through the Multipurpose Tray. The tray also supports continuous printing of coated paper, thanks to the Air Assist feature, which uses two fans to help limit sheets from adhering together during the feeding process.
The Multipurpose Tray also has a Media Sensor that can identify the paper type and weight and automatically adjust both the fixing temperature and the paper transport speed. This not only helps
to produce optimal output results, but it also limits the need to manually enter the paper size and
type when loading.
Additionally, the print driver for the imageFORCE C7165 model incorporates preset print profiles
and a Print Wizard. This allows users of any skill level to create impactful output, even those without special print knowledge or experience; with step-by-step instructions, anyone can easily create booklets, envelopes, and more.

Like the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX and imagePRESS Lite families, the imageFORCE C7165 model leverages Unified Firmware Platform (UFP), a common source code for firmware development. UFP continues to help increase the value proposition of the device by contributing to ongoing feature improvements. UFP V4.0 is the current version for the imageFORCE C7165 model. While this differs from the current UFP V3.18 of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX and imagePRESS Lite families,
there are features that align for consistency.
In a continued effort to support the security needs of modern businesses, the imageFORCE C7165 model introduces new Security Environment Estimation Technology. This includes an estimation algorithm developed by Machine Learning that is used to analyze the environment. It then suggests
to administrators one of six environment types and displays the security settings best suited for that environment. This feature helps enable even those companies without in-house security expertise
to support device protection.
The imageFORCE C7165 model is designed to maximize uptime and minimize maintenance to help keep your customers’ operations running smoothly.

Reduced downtime: Long-lasting parts—in particular, the drum, fuser, developer, and ITB unit—may have a longer lifespan, depending on usage, including print volume and other factors.

Installation time improvements: Certain accessories and parts are shared with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX line, promoting streamlined inventory management and increased service efficiency.

Anti-loosening welded frame: Like select imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX models, this frame promotes long-term strength and stability and is built using a process unique to Canon within the industry.

Easy unboxing: This model requires only one person to unbox the device, whereas previous models required a minimum of two people.
Designed with sustainability in mind, 30% of the resin material used in the new imageFORCE C7165 model is made with recycled plastic material, increased from 2% on the conventional Canon office MFP. Moreover, Canon reduced its use of plastic materials by switching from conventional foam packaging for its main unit to interior cardboard packaging, a material that’s widely recyclable and secured from sustainable sources. The imageFORCE C7165 model is also ENERGY STAR® certified and achieved EPEAT® Gold and EPEAT Climate+™.
